Still Lifes full of Life

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 29, 2009, 7:04 AM

Beauty petal by petal...

Today I'm featuring the work of ~MCRas-Allard that I discovered just a while ago. A traditional artist, she has a gallery full of beautiful, lively paintings. I chose a series of flowery still lifes that I find quite outstanding. If you care for the style and the subject, have a look at my Features box. I'm sure you will love what you see.

Thank you for dropping in!

April showers and flowers

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 19, 2009, 7:24 AM

Give me April

This is the title of my latest submission: "Give me April". I'd take April anytime if it were possible. For its whimsical weather, the rain falling on sunny fields, the storms and winds and warm, golden mornings. And the flowers.
So why should I ask anyone to give me April? I'll go out and look for it myself.
I also looked for it -or at least for its flowers- in a gallery I don't visit very often, the Fractal Gallery. There are some stunning artworks there and I chose some to feature today.
I hope you enjoy them :D

The once-in-a-year deviant: that's me

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 15, 2009, 10:48 AM

Always coming back...

...means we're always going away. Not an astounding piece of wisdom, is it? Today I logged back into my dA account after 11 months of absence. I wonder if anyone is still watching this stray deviant to read the journal entry. If anyone is, I am very grateful and a hug goes right out to them :iconsomehugsplz:

Though I know someone is actually watching and they have even bought from my print store! I don't know their names but I deeply appreciate their interest and contribution to my art. I hope they will read this entry so my heartfelt thanks will reach them. Thank you! :iconfloatingheartplz:

I can't promise I'll behave and be here every day. Real life is keeping me much to itself. But I'll try to dedicate at least one day a week to this account and to offer new and better artworks in my gallery. Many will be about flowers... because they are forever, you see! :iconflowerdropplz:

Happy to see you all again, I'll do my best to catch up with your beautiful creations.

The art of seeing

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 9, 2008, 3:32 AM

Looking through prismes

Remember that day when you went walking alone through a meadow, the sun shining to the east and the moon to the west, and a silence full of breezes danced around the edges of your camera? Dewdrops sparkled on your fingertips and your hair caught the light and changed into a thousand colour dots. Little flowers bend your toes away as you followed the hazy frontier between light and shadow, looking for worlds among the grass. And finding them. There's not much to say really about that day, words are not up to the perception. There is just much to see.

What Do These Girls Do?

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 20, 2008, 11:09 AM

AnnMei's Females

Little Eve came out of Paradise to show us all that the world is not a simple place. Not guilty nor shy, not flashy nor provocative. She simply is. She explores this world where she suddenly reigns and finds herself in the most curious situations. "Curiouser and curiouser", as Alice said. (Alice, by the way, was one of her best friends.) She usually looks back at the viewers who look at her and never answers questions. We feel compelled to answer them ourselves and fall in the trap of revealing our deepest secrets. For we know nothing about her -except some ancient voices that vilify her- and can only explain her predicaments through our own female experiences. So, to avoid revealing my deepest secrets, I will say nothing of the situations she finds herself in. AnnMei wisely put her in different frames, in different places, dresses and ages. She's there for us to look and wonder.
